Chapter 10-Corbin Inserts Silver
------------------------------------------------------
“Will you at least move my wrists so they are in front of me?” Victor whined, “Honestly, this has got to be the most uncomfortable position.”

“I can think of a few more, if you’d like,” Corbin replied with a smug expression.

Talyn chuckled, “I’d love to see that.” Victor shot him an angry glare, only causing the other two to laugh at him.

Corbin sighed, “You are too entertaining.” Then he turned to Talyn, “I think we should bathe once Rhyna gets back. I’ve been hunting for this confounded creature for weeks.” Victor shot him another glare, which he ignored. “Besides, the cold water will do you some good for those ribs of yours.”

Talyn shook his head, “I’d be fine if you would have watched where you were going.”

“And you’d also be fine if you’d watched where you were jumping.”

“I did. You weren’t there when I leapt.”

Corbin lifted an eyebrow, “Did you really think nothing of a pale-faced man running through the forest at full-speed? Did you not suspect he would be chased by something and that might be why he was running?”

Talyn frowned, “I didn’t see him until he set Rhyn down.

Victor grinned proudly, “That’s because I’m too fast to be seen!” Then he frowned and tilted his head. “Did you hear that?”

“Yeah. It’s Rhyn,” Talyn sighed, “Probably saw a lizard or something.”

“Or a man! Release me now!” Victor growled.

Corbin eyed the vampire, but spoke to Talyn, “Ever seen what silver does to a vampire when you put it under their skin?” Victor’s eyes flickered.

Talyn frowned, “I’m not sure I want to watch you torture him.”

Corbin shrugged, “Your loss.” He grabbed Victor’s arm and dragged him to a tree. Victor struggled and whined, but didn’t really say anything clearly enough to make an exact demand. Within a few seconds, Corbin had wrapped one end of a wire to his upper arm, around the tree, and to his other arm. When Victor was secured, Corbin took out his dagger.

Victor grunted, “Don’t touch my clothes.”

“I can’t do anything with your shirt on. Besides, I know you’ve got bruised ribs and I’m positive you’ll want Rhyna to look at them.”

“Well, not if involves you cutting them.”

Corbin’s eyebrow raised smugly, “What makes you think I’m cutting it off?” He pulled Victor’s shirt up and tucked it over his head, behind his neck. It was a precarious position and slightly uncomfortable for the vampire, but nothing compared to how uncomfortable he would be if Talyn let Corbin continue with his thoughts.

“Please?” Victor whispered. “Now I’m the one saying it. Are you happy?”

“Not yet.”

Talyn shook his head, “You’re both ridiculous. I’m going to find something to do while you torture Victor. I don’t want him mad at me.”

“I’m already mad at you for not stopping him! You haven’t even tried!” he spat.

The hunter chuckled and took out a small piece of metal, about the size of a button. He waved Talyn away, and the assassin didn’t hesitate to leave, but cast one last look at them. ‘I really don’t know if I should stop him or what. Honestly…he’s already got Victor tied up, really tight, why in the world would he want to torture the man?’

Corbin took out the dagger and tapped it on his finger holding the thin piece of silver. He moved to Victor’s side and slid the dagger between the tree and his back, slicing a deep, thin line into the soft gap next to his shoulder blade. Victor tightened his jaw, but wouldn’t allow the hunter any further pleasure. When the incision was made, Corbin shoved the silver into the wound, drawing a sharp gasp from the vampire.

“That ought to draw you a bit of fun. You won’t be able to get that out alone. Once it heals, slowly, just like a human, you won’t be able to use any of your vampire abilities,” Corbin smirked.

Victor wanted to kill him, but was unable. He was only able to curse him and let his mouth run rampant. Corbin shrugged it off. He fixed Victor’s shirt and released him from the tree. Though he really did want to continue, he knew it wouldn’t be a good idea at all. With Talyn nearby, it wasn’t so much of a threat, but with Rhyna nearby…Corbin wanted to be the good-guy to her, not the bad-guy, so he dropped Victor and crouched in the middle of the clearing to start a fire.

“What are you doing?” Talyn demanded.

Corbin looked up, “Well, I’m starting a fire, what does it look like?”

Talyn rolled his eyes, “I’m not stupid, but you’ll draw attention to us.”

“Don’t worry about it. It’s just in order to cook a meal. Bread and cheese is getting boring. I’ve got some meat from a deer I killed a few days ago. I wanted to put it in a stew, if you’re willing to eat a warm meal.”

Talyn grinned, “Of course!”
Lichelle: Yup. I seem to be the one to torment my vampire. Victor deserves it, though. Can you blame Corbin?

Can't blame the poor guy for torturing the vampire, but still...poor Victor T_T. Great chapter though, well written as usual :XD:
